Arina Lukasheva is 21 year old artist born and raised in Moscow, Russia. Currently she's a BA student of University College of Arts in London and her major is Fine Art. Mainly her artistic practice is based on philosophical discourses frequently touching childhood memories, investigation of archives and collective memory. Her latest projects involve redefining the concept of escapism in current realities and retrospecting personal and collective archives of photographs.
“My art practice always begins with reflection and rather intimate experiences that sprout into more profound and complex questions. At this point in my formation as an artist, I concentrate on archival photographs of my family and my hometown. I explore my family roots, reinterpreting my childhood through the lens of present-day reality. I tell a story that is rich in its own symbolism and open for independent interpretation”
